I power outage caused me to turn my phone’s flashlight on. As the light traveled around my room, it ran across a piece of mirror that had been the subject of my latest art experiment. I had painted the surface white, and then etched some lines and shapes away, so that whoever was looking at it could see themselves as the image that makes up the image. The light bounced off and resulted in a projection on the ceiling. I know I had stumbled upon something special.
I pushed my experiment for months, until I arrived at a point where I had developed a new technique of art. I discovered that I can use a sheet of mirror as the base for projecting symmetrical positive and negative images upon any surface in space. This is the first finished piece of its kind.
